Chloroalkali ion membrane, also known as perfluorinated ion membrane, is a special type of cation selective permeation membrane. Chlorine alkali ion membranes have advantages such as good chemical stability, good thermal stability, low resistance, good mechanical processing performance, and green environmental protection. They are in high demand in fields such as fuel cells and chlor alkali industry. According to different ion exchange groups, chlor alkali ion membranes can be divided into three types: perfluorocarbonic acid sulfonic acid composite membranes, perfluorosulfonic acid membranes, and perfluorocarbonic acid membranes.

The main raw materials for chlor alkali ion membranes include carboxylic acid resin, sulfonic acid resin, and fluorite. China is a major producer of fluorite, accounting for nearly 70% of the global production in 2022.
